w/wire monocle |
Here's my most ambitious
repro efforts and one of my first. It took me several weeks to get a
perfect working mould for this little guy, afterwards I made and sold
six of them. I advertised them one time in ARC (more than 6 years ago)
and sold them all. The two above were subsequently made for a later
run (only two more were made, the ones shown) and they remained
unpainted until just recently. Just finished them and now offer them
for sale. When mounted, they cannot be distinguished from the
originals except for the monocle. The originals, however, are made of
pot metal and are hollow, mine are solid cast resin, hand painted and
detailed just like original. I could have replicated the monocle also
but since this is a repro and I'm not attempting to fool anyone, I
figured the more realistic looking monocle would set it apart from the
original. The original was just a piece of bent wire and I always
thought it looked chintzy.
BOTH DOLLS HAVE BEEN SOLD
Also Available:

Reproduction Name ID tag.
These are a lacquered paper replica of the name plate
for the Majestic Charlie McCarthy Radio and same thickness as
the original metal plate. There were two different colors of these as can be
seen in the above sample image.
They come with the appearance of the escutcheon pins
in place so you can glue them on or I can supply at no extra charge
a self adhesive (peel & stick) backing. If you prefer, I can punch
small holes (where the escutcheon pin images are) and you can attach
with real pins for more realism.
