Philco 48-1000, 10" television ca: 1947 From my project shelf, an interesting and unusual looking set. Made in 1947 for the '48 model year, one of several models offered by Philco that year. I've owned this set for more than 20 years with the hopes of getting to restore it some day. I realize that I have more projects than I'll ever have time to get to, so I'm offering it for sale as-found. The cabinet is in excellent condition, very sound, no loose joints or damage. The finish is original and in better than average condition, it does suffer some minor dings, scuffs and scratches. Complete except for the back cover and as near as I can tell (I've not removed the chassis for inspection) all original. There is some surface rust on the power transformer (not unusual caused by condensation), chassis is otherwise clean, no rodent or insects have resided in it. I have not attempted to power it up as I never do such a thing until I'm ready to do an electronic restoration and take the necessary precautions. I did check the CRT and as you can see from the meter reading, it should give a decent pictures once an appropriate electronic restoration performed.
Measurements (approx. shipping): 30 x30 x 28" I do offer free delivery (at my convenience) in the I-5 corridor from the Eugene, OR to the Bellingham, WA area. |
