Here's what many of you have been
seeking, my hood is the correct size and looks more authentic.
Unlike the soft metal one that was previously supplied by another
source available that mounted poorly by nails that you had to bend
(often damaging the hood) and then hung loose unless glued in
place. My hood is made of a rigid resin compound with real bronze
powder. When completed, it takes on an authentic metal finish,
looking much like the original bronze color.
The top image shows my repro hood
mounted. The original hood was made of stamped metal and mounted
with bendable tabs thru slots in the escutcheon. My repro is
mounted with tiny screws (supplied) which involves some ability
too work with your hands and a few tools. First the slots have to
be prepared to accept the screws in the correct place. To do so, a
small round jewelers file is necessary to enlarge the holes
slightly. I offer the hood for your installation or I can install
it for you if you do not feel you have the skills to do so.
Also available is the same (Radiola 18)
hood without the RCA logo for the *Brunswick and Graybar
brands. SPECIFIC NO LOGO if desired (below). The hood comes with mounting screws &
instructions. For use on Brunswick or
Graybar models (no logo), I can supply the same without the RCA logo:
SOLD OUT of the Lamp
hoods, contact me and I'll notify you if
I make more.
