Crystal and 1 tube radios only work with headphones as there's not enough power to drive a loudspeaker. An audio amplifier is required to allow listening to a loudspeaker.
This one is in very good condition, with original finish. The black composition face plate was factory coated with Lacquer or some type of clear coating which show signs of wear and scratches. This is quite common as I have another which shows surface scratches as well. This one also It has a small fracture at the top let corner. The instrument has been restored to working order by yours truly and works quite well, included with the sale, a working vacuum tube and a reprint of the original sales brochure.
