Here's a very
interesting radio that is overlooked by most collectors as just
being another large portable. Once peeking inside however one
finds no similarity to the other large format tube portables of
the era. Circa 1954, the largest of all the the
subminiature
tube radios. This
model, like the Motorola "Pixie"
uses 1 miniature tube in it's 4 tube line-up. It can be operated
from AC as well as batteries. Features a built-in clock that
must be hand wound. Power requirement: AC/DC, 1-67.5 volt "B"
battery, 2-large size 1.5 volt "A" battery. Weight: 4.5 lb.
without batteries, measures 9X8X3".
