The 1938
Charlie McCarthy radio has always been a popular collectable for
radio collectors as well as other collectors of vintage
memorabilia. There were two versions with very little difference
between version 1 & 2. Version one had a slight difference in
the dial scale and the metal logo. There is also a minor
difference in the radio's circuitry. The radio pictured above is
model 2.
By popular demand, I have
replicated the often damaged dial scale. However, I have not yet
come up with an affordable process to make it in the same
fashion as the "Bubbled" original. My replica is flat but fits,
looks and functions quite well. It can be ordered from the
"Dial Scale" section of my site. Images below show both the
original and replica scale mounted in my radio.
