subminiature tubes
Rugged and compact, built like military equipment (Raytheon built a
lot of during WW-II).
This beautifully designed and built radio set is quite rare.
THis neat little set has long been sought after by myself and recently won on an eBay auction. I was very fortunate in that it is complete with the original presentation box and paper instructions/owners manual. There is no indication that it was ever used. Features: full 5 tube Super-hetrodyne circuit with AVC, 455 KC If's, earphone only operation and a built in antenna (it's part of the earphone wiring). Battery requirement: 1-22.5 volt "B" battery, 2-1.5 volt "A" battery. A true shirt pocket radio measuring just 6" X 3" X 5/8", weight w/o batteries, 10 oz. Be sure and read my article on the subminiature tube.
