Here's a very interesting radio that is overlooked by most collectors as just being another large portable. Once peeking inside however one finds no similarity to the other large format tube portables of the era. Circa 1954, the largest of all the the
subminiature tube radios. This model, like the Motorola "Pixie" uses 1 miniature tube in it's 4 tube line-up. It can be operated from AC as well as batteries. Features a built-in clock that must be hand wound. Power requirement: AC/DC, 1-67.5 volt "B" battery, 2-large size 1.5 volt "A" battery. Weight: 4.5 lb. without batteries, measures 9X8X3".
