The "Private Ear"
radio Company of New York produced this tiny set for the 1950
model year. It was the second consumer radio made after WW II
using
Subminiature tubes, the Belmont Boulevard was the first (ca.
1946). Features earphone only operation as it only has two of
these tiny tubes.
However it is reflexed therefore performing like a four tube
circuit. Power requirements: two 1.5 volt "AA" cells and
one 22.5 volt "B" battery. It measures 5 3/4 X 2 1/4 X 7/8",
weighs just 6 oz w/o batteries.
