The GE AR-1300 & AA-1400 is the same as the Radiola "V" but without the finished wood base and top. It consist of a crystal receiver using the "Perikon Detector" plus a three tube detector amplifier. When the detector amplifier is powered up and the headphones are disconnected form the tuner receiver, it become a 3 tube regenerative receiver capable of driving a loudspeaker. Without the detector amplifier, the tuner/ receiver section serves as a stand alone crystal receiver.
The receiver incorporates a unique detector know as the Perikon Detector
