A VERY RARE PIECE!

Circa 1922, made by Wireless Specialty, this rare item is worthy of note and only seen in a very few collections. It was touted at the time of manufacture that it was the most sensitive  broadcast device developed. Features: 5-stages of fixed RF amplification plus vacuum  tube detector. With regeneration, two of the stages serve as additional AF amplification stages, giving it the performance of 8-tubes and will drive a loudspeaker. The Radiola AA-485 was designed to work with the Radiola AR-1382 tuner (also made by Wireless Specialty) and it's my understanding that it is similar to the Radiola Special.
