RCA Radiola V ca: 1923

The Radiola "V" is the same as the GE AR-1300 & AA-1400 mounted on a wood base with a finished wood top. It consist of a crystal receiver using the "Perikon Detector" plus a 3 tube detector amplifier. When the detector/amplifier is powered up and the  headphones are disconnected form the tuner/receiver, it become a 3 tube regenerative receiver capable of driving a loudspeaker. Without the detector amplifier, the tuner/ receiver section serves as a stand alone crystal receiver.

There are two version of this model; Radiola V, AR-885 witch requires a UV-200 and two UV201 vacuum tubes. The later version (AR-885-A) could be operated with UV-199's.

The Radiola V  incorporates a unique detector know as the Perikon Detector
