This is called a "Grandmother"
clock radio. The difference between the "Grandmother" and
"Grandfather" clock radios is the height. The "Grandfather"
clock radios are approximately 1' taller than the smaller
counterpart, generally around 6' or taller, this one is 5' 3"
counting the decorative trim at the top.
This is a set I have owned for
many years and recently finished the restoration. The
restoration on the cabinet included cleaning and "deluxing" the
original finish rather than refinishing it. Most of the
restoration time was spent restoring the chassis which was
coated with a heavy coat of sticky cigarette tars and other
contaminants. All cans, tuning condenser and most parts were
removed for cleaning.
