Stromberg-Carlson, a company that never made anything cheap, flimsy, poor quality or light weight. From my collection, this is not a rare speaker but it's rare to find one in this condition. The frame and all the housing are made of "Pot Metal" . There is no distortion, flaws, fractures or any other negative to related to the metal in this piece. It is as fine of an example of a large "Pot Metal" casting that you will find.
Performance-wise, a good very good sounding speaker that will work on any early battery or AC radio of the 1920s requiring a two wire high impedance speaker. It has a good tone with plenty of nice clear sound.
