Hoffman "Trans-Solar" Radios
model PP-706 - red,  RP-706 - pink

The US made version of Hoffman's battery/solar cell operated transistor radio.

The 4.2 volt mercury battery originally used in this model has long since been unavailable. I have assembled a substitute battery that works fine and is included with the radio. It also works very well with the solar cell.

1958
Case: solid colored plastic
Power requirements: battery, 1 - 4.2 volt mercury cell
Frequency coverage: AM
Antenna requirements: built-in loop
Measurements (approx): 6 x 3.5 x 1.75"
