Circa 1948, a large console with
AM/FM radio, 2 speed record changer (78 & 33 1/3) and 10"
"porthole" TV. A Unique set with it's tilt out viewing screen
designed as space saver giving about 6" more floor space as
there is no CRT neck protruding from the rear. Another unique
thing about this set is the circuitry, for those electronically
inclined here's what's inside:
32 tubes
(includes 7 in the radio section)
4 selenium rectifiers
Series strung heaters
(unusual for an early set
of this screen size)
RF Transformer type HV
supply (using
2 35L6's for oscillators, this type circuit is commonly used in
smaller screen sets, the first I've seen on a 10" CRT)
Horizontal drive is
accomplished with 3 parallel 50B5 tubes!
4 video IF's
DC restoration
This is shown in the as-found
condition and the plans are to completely restore it to it's
original operating condition.
