Another item from my project shelf. This piece was acquired many years ago from an estate collection that I purchased. I kept it because it was (and is still) so clean and unmolested. it appears to to have all its original parts including the original capacitors. However is does lack the speaker. I suspect this was originally installed in a table set or perhaps a console. Someone with good woodworking skills could retro-fit into either type cabinet.
The escutcheon that was with it shows the brand "Federal", neither of the ID labels provide a model number. All the info spaces are blank on the rear badge, the sticker on the side shows it was built by Gilfillan.
I thought about doing an electronic restoration and offering for sale but decided against as I have far too many waiting projects. I'm leaving as-found for possibly someone new at restoration or one that just enjoys working on a piece that has not been bastardized, modified or molested in any way.
Its an 8 tube chassis, nicely built requiring an electrodynamic speaker. From what I see, it appears to be a super-het. Here's the tube line-up: #80, 2-#47's, 2-#51's, 2-#27's & #24.
