The RCA "Catacomb" (sealed electronics) was used in Radiola models; AR-810 (Super VIII Console), AR-812 (Super-Heterodyne Portable), Radiola 25, 26. An eight tube version was used in the Radiola 28, 30 & 30A & 32. RCA never released a complete detailed schematic on this unit apparently to prevent their new Super-Heterodyne circuit from be compromised. By the time the Supet-Het circuit became the norm, the original electronics used in the "Catacomb" was obsolete.
Now there are professionally drawn schematics for the sealed mystery box (catacomb). The *6 tube version is free with the purchase of any of my Re-Mastered reprinted Radiola Super-Het manual reprints!
They where drawn by a friend of mine for free distribution. The schematics are professionally drawn on the sizes noted and are download files. I scanned them and maintained their original size. These are large files (to maintain high quality prints). The original printout size of the complete schematic is 11 x 26" on the jpg file & 11 x 22" on the PDF file. You can decide what files you wish to download. You can take PDF files to Kinko's and have them printed full size if desired. A URL for the download file will be sent after purchase of any of the manuals using the early Radiola Super-Het circuits.
*if the 8 tube version becomes available, I will include it also.
