New replacement 89t plug-in
monophonic cartridge/stylus assembly that fits most of the Audiotronix, Califone, Newcomb and many other record players of
the 60's - 70's era. This also fits the standard flip-under holder
that was very popular as a replacement in the late 50's - 70's.
Although these are monophonic only, they are compliant with
stereo recordings. Unlike the original "mono" cartridges, you
can safely play stereo records without fear of damage.
This
is designed to plug into a holder with a "flip-under" action (see
right image above).
Please note although this stylus is no easier to break than others,
care must be used when replacing and using any needle, stylus
assembly. You cannot return a broken stylus.
Caution,
this stylus
(or any stylus) can be easily damaged by:
improper handling when installing
raking it across the record or turntable
dropping the arm on the record or
turntable
allowing the stylus
to come in contact with the moving turntable surface
Observe the images above and note the proper way to handle and install
the stylus/cartridge assembly. When removing and installing, grip only
by the small nubs on either side of stylus. When removing the
stylus/cartridge assembly, grip with thumb & forefinger and pull it
forward, out of holder, note which side the tiny ribs are on and make
sure you push the new one in place the same way the old one came out.
Never handle or apply pressure to the center part of the assembly,
that is the stylus (needle) and it can be damaged with improper
handling.
I hope
this helps you to install your new stylus/cartridge assembly.
