Why Pay My Price?
are my prices high?

Why buy from me? Are my prices too high?

The restored and exceptionally nice items I offer for sale are in no way intended to be at bargain prices. The items that I have restored represent many painstaking hours of my time making sure they look and perform at their best. As I have previously stated; "Premium items demand a premium price". I usually avoid the beat-up and crusty stuff that's often sold on eBay and supposedly restored or in "working condition". Most of the items I offer are in the upper 10% of their cosmetic & working condition, many are from my collection. I am a detail person and I know few that go to the extent that I do in performing restorations. I also know that there are those who do care and that's where most of my  sales end up going to. Many of my sales are to repeat customers whom have purchased a number of items from me over the years. My prices are usually no more expensive than what you would pay to purchase an item as-is and then pay to have it properly restored. This is not only my hobby but my livelihood. I take a great deal of pride in my work and I guarantee each item to be 100% as described. For more information see my statement of guarantee.

When you buy one of my restored items or one that is described as excellent or near mint, you can count on it being a "top shelf" item, not something just picked up in a garage sale patched up for a quick profit. Ask yourself the following questions then decide if you want to gamble with something cheap or you want quality.

1)  Do you expect your purchase to be exactly as described?

2)  Do you expect quality restoration, professional workmanship and proper performance when you purchase a restored radio, phono or TV?

3)  Does dirt, grime and crud on the inside (and sometimes outside) bother you when you get an item that was supposed to be in excellent shape or "restored"?

4)  When you purchase a radio and find small hairline cracks or other damage that was not mentioned by the seller, do you find that upsetting?

5)  Do you expect your purchase to be packed so it will survive the rigors of shipping?

6)  Do you expect the seller to point out any flaws or negatives that may exist on an item before you make your decision to purchase?

7)  Does it matter whether the knobs or anything else might not be proper or original on an item you are about to purchase?

If you answered yes to the above questions, then you will enjoy dealing with me.

My work is all done with pride and when you purchase an item that has been restored by me, I will promise that you will find no unpleasant surprises and I guarantee satisfaction.

It is amazing to me how many "patched up", "botched up", "bastardized" radios are sold to the unwary buyer. I know because I hear of these horror stories and have friends and customers that bring some of these to me to straighten out. Unfortunately some are "screwed-up" beyond hope.

So if you just want cheap or like to take chances at bargain prices, there are plenty of others to choose from. The items that I describe as restored by me, are done with pride and excellent workmanship and I try not to sell them cheap! Nice, quality stuff is hard to come by. Oh, I do sell some as-is and as found stuff and those will be described & priced accordingly, but all the restored, exceptional items I offer will not be cheap.

I often get comments and e-mail like: "your as-is items are better than some of the restored things I have purchased" or "item was much better than expected" and "best packing I have seen".
