The Mystery Box was the first wireless remote control and introduced by Philco in 1939. The one above is part of my Philco console radio model 39-116.

Below i share some information for the Philco Mystery Box remote control. Also provided is how I made a functional and authentic looking battery for the Philco console radio model 39-116 remote control. This info could also be applied for making other batteries for radio or other vintage electronic equipment.

I provide only basic info, other details are left up to one's imagination and abilities.

The battery requirements are; 3 volts for the "A" supply and 45 volts "B" supply.
