One tube radio receivers are not very good at producing a signal strong enough to to operate a loud speaker, so the 2 stage audio amplifier was created. The Aeriola Sr. Amplifier was offered in March of 1922 and sold for $68.00. It was later named the "Radiola AC" & the Receiver, the "Radiola Senior". When the Radiola name was adopted, the paper "lid labels" were replaced with metal plates.
